Important Bareboat Charter Info

  • You, the charterer, have the option of selecting a USCG Captain (and crew, if desired) of your choosing. However, typically, the owner assigns a USCG Captain.  In the case that the Captain is furnished by the owner, full possession and control is still vested in you, although that does not preclude you from taking advice from the Captain regarding hazardous conditions such as inclement weather, navigational obstructions, etc. If you choose to provide your own Captain, please ensure that he or she is a 100-Ton USCG licensed Captain, who is familiar with Charleston's tricky waterways.

  • The Captain/crew are paid for by the charterer, which you will do on the day of your trip. Please note that although it is not mandatory, if you enjoy your trip, your Captain will greatly appreciate being tipped!

  • All fuel is to be paid by the charterer (which is already included in the payment that you made upon booking)

  • All port charges and pilotage fees, if any, are paid by the charterer (which is already included in the payment that you made upon booking)

  • The charterer may discharge, for cause, the Captain or any crew member without referral to the owner

  • Your guests are your responsibility, and you may not have more than 12 aboard per charter, whether moored or underway

Other important notes

  • Please be on time.  We often have charters scheduled back-to-back, so we are unfortunately unable to extend the trip beyond the scheduled end time, even if you or someone in your party arrives late

  • There are over 15 lifejackets on board, as required by the United States Coast Guard.  All children 12 years of age and younger are required to wear lifejackets while on board, per the United States Coast Guard
