FAQs

How big is the boat and how many people can it hold?

The boat is a 26-foot Godfrey AquaPatio, offering plenty of room for you and your guests to spread out and enjoy the journey. It's important to note that the maximum number of passengers is 12, which is a requirement set by the US Coast Guard for bareboat charters.

Can we go swimming?

Certainly! We're happy to accommodate your group's desire to go swimming, provided that time and weather conditions permit. We can take you to a suitable location where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the water. Additionally, we offer flotation devices for your use. Let's make some unforgettable memories together on the water!

Where should my group meet the boat?

Meet us at the Ashley Harborage Marina, located at 33 Lockwood St, Charleston, SC. As we embark on this exciting journey, we kindly ask all guests to please be on time to ensure a smooth departure. Don't miss the boat – let's create unforgettable memories together!

Where should we park?

If you are using a ride-share, you can be dropped off directly at the marina parking lot; if you are driving, there is $10 parking at the Marriott next door (35 Lockwood Drive).  You can tell the front desk that you have a charter next door, and they will give you a parking permit, and then you can just walk over.  At the marina, you can contact your captain (you will receive a message with who is assigned as we get closer to the date), and he will meet you at the marina gate and walk you down to the boat.

What is the cancellation policy?

In the event of a cancellation by the Captain due to unsafe weather conditions, we make every effort to reschedule at a mutually agreeable time. If there is not a satisfactory time available, we will provide a full refund.

However, if the renter chooses to cancel due to regular summertime weather conditions (such as a chance of showers, cooler than average temperatures, cloudiness) that are NOT unsafe, no refund is provided, although we will be happy to work with you to reschedule if possible. The weather is quite changeable here in Charleston, and a shower can pass over quite quickly. The Captain will make decisions based on safety and will inform the charter as soon as possible.

What Should we Bring?

Towels (boating is sometimes wet, even if you don’t go swimming!)

Sunscreen

Snacks and drinks

Dramamine or other motion-sickness medication

Dress according to the weather, and don’t forget that only soft-soled shoes (or better yet, bare feet!) are allowed on board. Remember to wear your swimsuit!

Is there a cooler on board?

Yes, there is a cooler on board! We've got you covered with ice and water too, so you can keep your drinks perfectly chilled throughout the journey. Let's keep the refreshments flowing and the good times rolling!

Can I play my own music?

Absolutely! You're welcome to play your own music onboard. We've got you covered with Bluetooth speakers strategically placed throughout the boat, ensuring you can enjoy your favorite tunes from anywhere on deck. Let's crank up the volume and make some waves!

Can we bring alcoholic beverages?

Yes, of course! You're welcome to bring alcohol aboard for the journey. However, safety is our top priority, and all guests must be 21 or over to consume alcohol. If you are obviously intoxicated and pose a liability, you may need to be dropped off early. Please note that no refund will be given in such cases. Let's ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on board!

Is smoking allowed on board?

Smoking is not allowed on board. Fire poses one of the biggest hazards at sea, so we cannot permit anything that requires an open flame to be used. Let's prioritize everyone's safety and enjoyment during our journey together.

We are celebrating a special occasion–can we decorate the boat?

Absolutely! Feel free to decorate the boat for the party. Balloons, signs, and any creative decorations you can think of are more than welcome to enhance your celebration. Have a great time!

Can we bring our four-legged friends?

We love all good girls and boys, and we welcome them aboard! Please let us know if you will be accompanied by the cutest girl or boy in the world! (Unfortunately, we can only allow a maximum of 2 dogs per trip, due to space constraints).
